Journalite
a distraction-free journal
What makes Journalite different?
Hi, I'm Geoff Groberg, the creator of Journalite.
After using Wordpress and other blogging systems for years I wanted something different: easy to archive, private and secure, free from evil corporations, stable in the long run, and maybe most importantly, simple and distraction-free.
I created Journalite for me. And now I want to share it with you.
Key Features
- Most importantly to me, Journalite is simple and distraction-free. There are no ads, clutter, and features that distract you from what really matters: your thoughts, ideas, goals, memories, and dreams. You log in, you write, you reminisce, maybe you publish some things. You smile or cry. And then, hopefully, you get off the computer and go outside.
- Journalite is free. It costs you absolutely nothing. If you enjoy it please consider making a donation.
- You can create public and/or private journal entries. Everything is managed from one place - no need to have a separate app for blogging vs a private journal.
- Your private journal entries are secure. Your data will never be shared with anyone, no matter what.
- You can easily export your journal anytime. No confusing, proprietary, incompatible formats. Save it as a PDF file, print a hard copy, or copy and paste into another app.
- If you publish a blog you get a free URL: [your-name].journalite.me.
- Your blog is saved as simple, reliable HTML. There are no javascripts, web frameworks, or security updates. It's plain HTML that loads fast and clean on any platform because there's no gunk to get in the way.
- Journalite doesn't have endless options for styling and customization. The basics are there. You can upload images, videos, and other things. But it tries to keep you focussed on substance: your thoughts and writing, not silly fonts and animated GIFs.
Journalite: beautifully simple.
